We invest beside you
The firm can still take equity positions, and prefers to do so alongside partners rather than on its own account. Shared capital sharpens both sides. When we are in, we are in on the same terms as everyone else at the table.
The firm
Since 2006
Tectum Investments LLC was founded in 2006 to put its own capital to work. Over the two decades since, the firm has invested in its own ventures and carried the risk on them.
That history is the whole argument for hiring us. Every judgment we make on your deal was paid for on one of ours. We have a view on which structures hold and which ones only look clever in a spreadsheet, because we have lived inside both.
That experience is now available to other people. We can source and acquire, we can develop, we can structure the financing, and we can structure the capital that sits behind it. What we do not do is sell you a product, and we do not make an introduction we would not make for ourselves.
Mandate
The firm can still take equity positions, and prefers to do so alongside partners rather than on its own account. Shared capital sharpens both sides. When we are in, we are in on the same terms as everyone else at the table.
Most of our work now is the capital stack itself: designing it, pricing each layer, and building the framework a company needs to carry the next stage of its growth.
Family offices, institutions, fund managers and sponsors bring us live transactions for a second reading. Sometimes the answer is a structure. Often the answer is to walk away, and that answer is worth more.
How we decide
We analyze market conditions before we form a view, not after. The strategy that comes out of it is built to balance risk against reward on the numbers actually in front of us.
Our team's experience runs across multiple sectors and the full life of an asset: sourcing, structuring, acquisition, development, structuring the financing, management and disposition. That range is why we underwrite the exit at the same moment we underwrite the entry.
How we work
We are trying to be in your next five deals, not to win this one. That changes what we tell you. It is why we will price a structure honestly, flag a risk you would rather not hear about, and say no to work we are not the right firm for.
Trust and transparency are not values on a wall here. They are the only reason a principal hands somebody else the numbers.
Tell us where it stands and what is holding it up. We will tell you straight whether we can help.
